Rainbow Heart Comes To An End   September 12, 2018

The final Rainbow Heart show will be at The Crescent, York on 25th September.

After a year of travelling around the nation with her one-woman show, The Bleeding Obvious has announced that York's date will be the final performance of Rainbow Heart - her original musical cabaret about coming out of the LGBT+ closet and searching for gender identity.

"We've been to some really wonderful places," says performer and sole member of The Bleeding Obvious Jessica Rowbottom. "From the Wakefield preview in August 2017 to the London show as part of Pride In London Festival, joining in Totnes Pride, gatecrashing Trans Pride Brighton and more - it's been an absolute juggernaut!"

The show features The Bleeding Obvious' original musical numbers alongside anecdotes about her experiences across the gender and sexuality spectrum. It has received plaudits along the way, with audience and reviews describing the show as hilarious, astounding, honest, emotional and catchy.

Jessica adds, "A lot of people find it relatable, the show covers everything from coming out to friends and family, dating, finding new social circles, and ends on a happy note. Invariably I'll have someone come up to me after the show and say 'hey, you just described my life!' - it's obviously struck a chord."

She will be joined for the final show by her touring partners: spoken word artists Geneviève L Walsh, and Helen Rhodes who is better known as The Thinking Chimp.

The final show is on Tuesday 25th September 2018 at The Crescent Community Venue, York, with the first acts on-stage at 7:45pm. Tickets cost £5 and can be obtained from bleedingobvious.eventbrite.com or on-the-door.
